Get to know our sustainable textile technology

Did you know that some fabrics today contain micro-chemicals that harm both our bodies and the planet?

It's true. Fabrics made from synthetic materials like polyester, nylon, and acrylic often contain harmful chemicals and dyes that can be absorbed through the skin, leading to various health issues. Moreover, these chemicals can leach into the environment during production, contributing to pollution and harming ecosystems and human health.

At LUNAM, we are dedicated to using fabrics that have a positive impact on both our health and the planet. We have conducted thorough research and continue to do so because we genuinely care. Our fabrics are thoughtfully selected and hold OEKO-TEX® Standard approval. Each piece of our underwear is crafted from TencelTM, Bamboo, cotton, and toxic-free polyester.

What is OEKO-TEX®?
OEKO-TEX® standard is a label that certifies that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories, has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals.
Our Fabrics are all OEKO-TEX® approved:
  1. Tencel™ is a fiber collected from a technique used in sustainable forestry. It is a process that makes use of timber that is unsuitable for high-grade products. Unlike conventional cellulosic fibers, Tencel™ is produced using a closed-loop spinning process in which almost all the water and products are recycled. An organic solvent is used to dissolve the pulp. The production of Tencel™ requires less water and energy than cotton and is less susceptible to odor-causing bacterial growth. As a natural fiber, Tencel™ is also biodegradable. To learn more, click here.

  2. Bamboo is a fast-growing grass that requires no fertilizer and self-regenerates from its own roots. We source our materials from suppliers that grow bamboo in the most ethical way possible.

  3. Our cotton is grown from non-GMO seeds without the use of toxic pesticides, insecticides, and fertilizers. Natural farming practices are put in place to support healthy soil, increase biodiversity, and reduce the fiber’s water footprint.

  4. Toxic-free Polyester is a long-lasting, resistant, and versatile fiber that can create super-absorbent fabrics that are perfect for periods and leakages. The polyester that we use in Lunam is OEKO-TEX® which means it is toxic-free. We want to make sure we provide our customers with a safe, comfortable, and high-performing product.

We are delighted to announce that we have undergone testing, and we are free of PFAs (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances). Our fabric and finishes do not contain any PFAS.

Our ongoing commitment is to research and employ the finest materials and processes to benefit both your well-being and the environment.

We are dedicated to creating the most environmentally friendly products for you and the planet. To explore more about our fabric, visit our webpage.
